Your summer guide to keeping Re:juve fresh, potent and skin-loving.

As we head into the warmer months, many of us are spending more time outdoors and leaning a little more on skin-calming essentials. At SpraySafe, we’re proud to offer Re:Juve, a naturally powerful bacteria-fighting hypochlorous acid (HOCl) water solution, bottled fresh in NZ to keep the formula as active as possible for longer.

But here’s one thing to remember as temperatures climb: HOCI is temperature-sensitive, and summer heat can affect its stability. With a few simple storage habits, you can keep your mist performing at its best all season long.

Why temperature matters

Hypochlorous acid is a remarkable, naturally occurring molecule recognised for protecting skin prone to irritation, breakouts, eczema, and environmental stressors. But its effectiveness relies on a stable pH.

When exposed to temperatures above 25°C, HOCl begins to neutralise, meaning it gradually loses its ability to calm the skin and keep bacteria in check.

The hidden summer risk

Inside a parked car, or in direct sunlight, temperatures can reach 40°C or higher, even on mild days. At this level, HOCl stability is compromised and the product loses much of its natural antimicrobial power and skin-calming effectiveness.

A good rule of thumb is:
“If it feels too hot for you, it’s too hot for your HOCl”

Our bottle system helps you care for your product

We’ve designed a practical, summer-friendly system to help you get the best performance from your purchase:

This system lets you store the bulk of your product cool while keeping just what you need on hand.

Summer storage tips for maximum freshness

Here’s how to protect your HOCl mists during the warmer months:

1. Keep your 320ml refill bottle in the fridge

This keeps HOCl in its optimum temperature range and can maintain stability for up to 12 months (just don’t let it freeze).

2. Decant into your smaller bottles

Top up your 30ml or 140ml bottles as needed. Using a cool, stable source means your daily mist is always at peak performance.

3. Avoid leaving any bottle in the car

Even during short errands, in-car temperatures can spike dramatically. This is the fastest way to degrade hypochlorous acid.

4. Keep small bottles out of direct sunlight

Store them in a handbag, backpack, tool bag, bathroom cupboard, or any shaded space.

5. Air-conditioned environments are best

At home, at work, or in the car while you’re driving, controlled temperatures help maintain stability.

Summer skin, the Re:juve way

Whether you’re tackling heat-induced breakouts, post-sun redness, exercise irritation, or simply looking to keep skin fresh, Re:juve is designed to be your daily companion. With a little extra summer care, your mist will stay stable, potent, and ready to calm and restore your skin, no matter how hot the day gets.
